Episode 2.1: PHYSIOLOGICAL BENEFITS OF SPORTS MASSAGE.



1. Pain, Stiffness and Discomfort Relief - massage deals with your problem area as well as finding out what other surrounding muscle tissues could also be interfering with the injury. The treatment is direct and natural, meaning there are no medications used or prescribed, and a range of lotions, oils and waxes can be used in different ways to alleviate pain.



2. Increased Range of Movement - using a range of massage techniques we can relieve muscular tightness, which can be causing a range of mobility problems. These techniques can increase flexibility, allowing the joints to become more mobile. 3. Improved Circulation - massage promotes vasodilation which is an increase in diameter of the blood vessels, in turn this decreases blood pressure, allowing a more efficient blood flow, therefore increasing the amount of oxygen being pumped around to the muscles.






4. Promotes Relaxation - by improving your circulation and relieving you of your aches and pains as your muscles become more pliable, it means that your body becomes much more efficient at doing what it is supposed to do - supporting and protecting your body!
